NEW JOBS AND NEW QUIRKY NOVELLA PUBLISHED THROUGH BIZARRO PULP PRESS/JOURNALSTONE PUBLISHING

HELLO, ALL I KNOW IT HAS BEEN A WHILE! But I was busy working at my new job as an English adjunct professor at several South Jersey schools and down the Jersey Shore for the ACCC system. During that lost time here, I had several small works published and a few interviews conducted on me by other authors. I will try to catch up on those links to their blogs later.

Some REALLY exciting news though...which will probably dominate a lot of the upcoming posts that you will see here (or be linked to through my other sites): I am the newest Philadelphia Writers' Conference Board Member.

This means you will have some chances to take part in some lovely free events that I will post about here, especially as we get closer to the PWC 2019, next June. A panel I am hosting this Saturday will be in a following post with some highlights from our wonderful panel members.

BUT THE BEST NEWS, I hope you follow the link at the top to my new novella, Weekly Furapy.  It is a timely dark comedy about an underlying theme of dealing with mental health issues: like OCDs, PTSD, panic attacks, and a bunch of issues that can seriously hinder a person's day to day life.

I personally, chose to tackle some of these issues in the form of two fictional main characters, knowing those near and dear to me that struggled with some of these issues and how I dealt with being the product of some myself. I've tried many times to discuss theses themes in Nonfic but for some reason, I will guess by distancing myself a bit, it was easier to do fiction from bits of truth and not break down but lift myself up.

Another one of my "if you don't take time to laugh, you will cry all the time" type-therapy sessions with my writing, yet I feel it yielded a good moral in the surreal setting, and it is getting good reviews:

August 3, 2018
Format: Paperback

This book is one of the weirdest and most delightful short reads I've ever experienced. The characters are altogether lovable from the moment you start reading, and Colborn's style pops off the page. It doesn't make any sense, but imagine if Harley Quinn was writing Chuck Palahniuk...It's comedy, it's mental health awareness. It's perfect. And it's white and furry--so very furry.

And yes, Sam Rockwell needs to be in the eventual movie adaptation. It's exactly the kind of role he
 would love."

I also got a few Five out of Five Stars and great comments on Goodreads, and I expect some more, since word just got out last week of its arrival.
But you be the judge. Give it a read and give it a rating. Seems like we need to at least start a conversation about mental health awareness.
Hope you have a lovely (rest of your) summer and like I said, more to follow for my current events,
